Martina Adams

MM (Curtis Institute), BMus (Temple University)

Horn player Martina Adams has performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra, the Philly POPS, and the Ocean City Pops, and currently freelances throughout the Delaware Valley region and teaches privately. She is the fourth horn of Symphony in C, a member of John Vanore & Abstract Truth, and is a substitute musician with several regional orchestras. Martina has performed alongside artists including Sutton Foster, Bruce Hornsby, Ben Folds, vocal group Il Divo, and rock band The Bouncing Souls and has appeared on FOX 29’s Good Day Philadelphia and WRTI radio.

She was accepted to the AIMS Graz in 2020 and has attended the Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Horn Workshop, Curtis Summerfest, and the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival. Martina is on faculty at the Settlement Music School, Csehy Summer School of Music, and was Orchestra and Chamber Music Intensive Program Director for the Philadelphia International Music Festival. She attended Csehy first as a faculty kid and then as a camper growing up, and is thrilled to now be on the horn faculty!

Martina holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Temple University, where she studied with Jeffrey Lang. She received her Master’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music where she studied with both Jennifer Montone and Jeffrey Lang. She started to play horn at age nine and studied with William Bonnell at Settlement Music School.
